The Night Before the 4th

‘Twas the night before the 4th and all through Camp J
Ev’ry counselor was finishing costumes for the parade.

Our props were all hung on the drying rack with care
With hopes that the cardboard won’t crumple or tear.

The campers were nestled all snug in their bunks
While counselors stayed up, the procrastinating punks.

And JoJo in her rainbow spandex and Sully in her USA swag
Had just pulled 10 cases of Redbull from a Cronigs bag.

When down at the garage there arose such a clatter
Counselors sprang from the art porch to see what was the matter

Away towards the studio they flew like a flash,
tore up strips of duct tape and threw open the candy stash.

And what did the lights on our headlamps expose
but a gigantic shark costume and 8 Marilyn Monroes!

Everyone will be impressed by the effort Camp made
To make such amazing costumes for the 4th of July Parade.

We’re keeping it a surprise, so blog photos are slim
But to tide you over, please enjoy this picture of Tim:

For now, as we crawl to bed and turn off the light,
We wish a Happy 4th to all, and to all a good night!

Love,
Camp
