GOOOOD MORNNNINGGGG CAMP JABBERWOCKYYYYYY!!
Session 2 is here!!! Session 2 is here!!! Thank you for being patient while we prepared this EPIC blog post! There was a slight delay but we promise it’s worth the wait!
Also, HAPPY 4TH OF JULY EVERYONE! Although, over here it doesn’t really feel like the 4th because we didn’t stay up all night doing parade prep or trek 3 miles through crowded streets of Edgartown in DIY costumes! The iconic Fourth of July parade was cancelled this year due to COVID-19, but don’t worry your patriotic Jabberwocky-loving heart one small bit because we did our very own, very safe, VERY FUN parade this year!
The morning began with a trip to Woods Hole to meet up with our friends arriving for the second session of camp. We were SO eager to get to camp and hug our friends that we took a running start while the boat was pulling up.
Once again we want to thank the Steamship Authority for their generosity and help with our pick ups. Each week you all help us make this special reunion possible and stress-free.
Back in Vineyard Haven, our crew was on the look out for our boat, probably confusing a lot of passengers and folks in town with our elaborate and unexpected getup!
ALAS THEY ARE HERE!!!!
SO. MANY. HUGS.
Patty!!!! Is!!!! Here!!!!!
We packed up items in our costume cabin and brought them with us to the ferry so that everyone on the boat could get dressed up.
Then we paraded through town!!!!
After we paraded, ate lunch, and unpacked, we took some time to enjoy each others company around the fire. Last week we endured a heat wave but today it was raining and in the 50’s all day long.
Before dinner, we tie dyed our camp shirts on the blacktop.
Tie dying requires a lot of focus, as demonstrated by our very own doctorate-candidate in OT, Cat!
Nice color combo Moriah!
Alex looked a little confused about his shirt, but Skye reassured him that it’s just right.
Here’s a before picture of Sam’s shirt.
Then an in-the-middle shot of his shirt…
Tomorrow we’ll post an after shot to show you how it turned out!
Tie dye is taking over Kelsey’s life. Someone please let her know that there is NO SUCH THING as too much tie dye (and that we appreciate all she’s doing to help make our tie dying dreams come to life this summer!!)
Some of us played basketball while their friends went to work on their tie dye.
After dinner Ophelia challenged JoJo to wrestle later this week. Stay tuned for details on their match.
Moriah distributed crowns to her Tulgeywood Princes and Princesses.
It was a little too cold to go to West Chop for the sunset and ice cream tonight, so we stayed close to the warm fire with s’mores and told scary stories.
That’s all for now. We can’t wait to tell you what we’re up to tomorrow!
Love,
Camp
