Drum Roll, Please!

Day 3 was a HOT one, but we weren’t going to let that get in the way of our fun today at Camp Jabberwocky! We packed our schedule full of activities!

After we filled up our bellies with breakfast burritos, we split up for morning activities.

Matt and Andres got to go on Camp’s boat with Daniel, Jamie, and Jack. A perfect way to beat the heat!

Daniel and Matt used their morning boat ride for some glam shots.

Jamie and Andres used their morning boat ride for some beauty sleep, which just means we’ll be expecting some glam shots from these two before the end of the week.

The rest of camp stayed back for art class with Madeline and cooking class with JoJo. Madeline came by with sand, shells, and other items from Martha’s Vineyard so we could make some beautiful picture frames.

Back in the main cabin, JoJo led our class on making pastelillos (Puerto Rican empanadas), while jamming out to some salsa music. We ate them all for lunch an hour later and graded the class an A+!

After lunch, we continued our long-awaited tradition of Challenge Night (but turned it into Challenge-Noon)! And there were some exciting contests!

Morgan challenged Kara to a hair flipping contest which got intense!! It was a close competition but Morgan inched into the lead at the very end to capture the victory!

Then, the competition died down for a moment and things got more warm and fuzzy when Justin did a hugging contest. Matt C. won with the coziest hug.

Craig put his sharpshooting skills to the test by challenging Jack to a duel. Craig won handily, and we think it’s because of all the practicing he’s been doing from his front row window on the bus! (See ten pictures down from here!)

Desiree and Shirley faced off in a tooth brushing contest. As the judge, JoJo was tasked with smelling each person’s breath and deciding who was the best brusher. Desiree won! Life Hack: It’s all in brushing the tongue!

Our final challenge before rest hour was a witch cackling contest between Morgan, Gabby, Shirley, Jordan, Matt, Alex, and Kellen. Everyone showed off their best witch cackle, and while it was close, Matt ended up taking the trophy!

After an hour-long rest, we loaded up the bus to get ready for drumming on the beach!

This was our first beach trip back, and we couldn’t have asked for better weather. The sun was shining, the water was cool, and our cookout and s’mores were the perfect accompaniment to the drumming done by our friends.

Some people preferred to soak up the sun on the beach, but others went right into the water!

We live streamed the drumming portion of the night for our friends who aren’t at Camp. Jabberwebby is still going strong!

All in all, it was a day full of sun, good food, and lots and lots of laughter. Beach days always remind us how truly lucky we are to be in such a beautiful place and to spend these days with such wonderful people. We are SWAMPED and headed to bed, ready to recharge for another fun-filled day!
