Today was a fun filled day! After our breakfast burritos this morning, we had our last day of classes š until next year, but we had a great time! We had a sing-a-long / dance in the living room! Everyone chose a song.Ā
One of our awesome classes was a cooking class with our chef Josh! We made spring rolls! They were delicious.
Click back to the blog post from two days ago, where we picked wild blackberries and huckleberries on our campus. Well, today we made jam out of them! We smashed the berries andĀ placed them in a pot to boil. During that time we chopped lemon herb which we used to add more flavor to theĀ berry mix. We also prepared our jars by boiling them to get rid of all the bacteria in them so the jam can last a really long time.
After lunch we had time to rest. We cleaned, completed our art projects and relaxed on the swings.
P.S. If you are free tomorrow (8/17) come to our race! We host a 5k to support camp.
Then it was time to head to the fair! Lots of us went on our favorite ride called the “Music Fest”.
We met a new friend! Guess who he is! (YouĀ will know if you watch TV late at night)!
So many smiles today! This fair had so much for us to do. We petted alpaca, sheep, goats, horses, cows, and of course dogs. We went on horse-drawn carriage rides, watched how yarn is made after a farmer shaved a sheep, watched little pigs race around a pen, ate delicious food, and so much more!
We entered some of the handmade pottery we made at camp into the pottery competition! We earned honorable mention!
The day was long, but not over yet! We headed from the fair to the fireworks! They were spectacular and the grand finale was out of this world!
Thats a wrap on that day! Catch usĀ again tomorrow.
Love,
Camp
